COVID 19: Update (April 23, 2022)
As we learn to live with COVID-19, it is still important to reduce the spread of the virus as much as possible. As a refresher the virus spreads primarily through respiratory droplets and aerosols, which means masking, spacing and ventilation are the primary mitigants to reduce the risk of spread
With respect to our club, the risk of transmission in our outdoors spaces is very very low and the risk in the pavilion/ change rooms (when avbl during staffed hours) is higher but still very low relative to most indoor establishments because of the amount of space and ventilation, to be cautious we recommend the following protocols when in the pavillion/changerooms
-
wear a mask
-
stay as far away from others as reasonably possible
-
don't mingle/ reduce your time in the facility or make efforts to avoid it completely
SPC Waiver
SPC will be COVID screening our members through our waiver system to ensure members with COVID related symptoms don't come down to the club. SPC encourages staff and patrons to screen themselves before entering the premises and to stay at home if they are sick. The Ontario COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool is available here
Vaccination
-
Full vaccination is recommended but each team must decide for themselves if and how to implement as that level is the primary area of exposure, the risk of intermingling with other teams is very low given the average paddlers movements throughout the club
